Patricia Nisenholz, Early Childhood Family Engagement Specialist at the Jewish Community Center of Chicago, writes:
"The community continues to enjoy the opportunity to experience the Voices and Visions Masters Series exhibition at the Mayer Kaplan JCC in Skokie IL.
Last Friday, our Early Childhood department hosted a Grandparent Shabbat program for the families at Mayer Kaplan JCC. We invited grandparents to join us afterwards for an Oneg Shabbat and an opportunity to experience the Masters Series exhibition. Director of Adult Services Ilene Uhlmann and I prepared a teaching on two of the prints in particular. The grandparents truly enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the exhibition.
Two of the couples were so taken by the experience that they plan on ordering copies of the prints. One of the gentlemen was a dentist who thought it would be perfect for his office!
We are planning to use the prints as an opportunity to invite the community to a series of Lunch and Learn programs beginning in January. We will have guest speakers from communal organizations facilitate discussions focusing on individual prints from the exhibition."
